Too much Instagram lately

Too much time when I’m idling.

Too little time doing the things that actually matter.

I tell my kids:

“You have no idea how addictive this stuff is.”

I say it like I’m an adult who knows what not to do.

Apparently I still need the reminder.

On Sunday my wife and I rode our bikes to the bakery in town. Our usual ride. Nothing happened.

Which is probably why I enjoyed it so much.

Just cycling. Outside. Pastries.

The sort of thing that seems almost too ordinary to post about.

I know getting on the bike is always a good idea.

I say that all the time.

Apparently knowing isn’t the same as remembering.

I’d taken ten days away from coaching too.

A little break. Clear my head.

Somewhere in all that empty space I started thinking:

Am I rubbish at coaching?

Then I went back to Instagram.

So that helped.
