Some things stop working before we notice

The early start. The run, ride, walk. Coffee before the call. Going to the shop for something you don’t really need.

A quiet morning.

Things that used to make the day feel good.

Then, somehow, they become routines.

Then obligations.

Then things to get through.

And because they used to work, we assume we’ve moved on.

Maybe we haven’t.

Maybe we’ve just stopped noticing them.

I’m beginning to think I don’t always need something new.

Slowing down might be enough.

Not the routine.

Remembering what I loved about it in the first place.
